Kim Furtado received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (N.D.) degree from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington.
She also holds a Bachelor of Science Cum Laude in Biology from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Inspired by the healing power of earth-based natural medicine, Dr. Furtado is dedicated to continued education and research about health, healing and medicine.
Kim’s passion empowers others to embrace the unique blessings of one’s own life journey and to reclaim radiant health- in body, mind and spirit.
An expert in herbal medicine, nutrition, detoxification and hormone balancing, a mother of five daughters and one grand-daughter, a school garden program director, and an advocate for the environment, Dr. Kim brings her diverse experience to each patient and student.
She enjoys serving as a community resource and effective educator of lifestyle changes. Kim is a member of the national organization of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP). She is also a program director at the Delmarva Community Wellnet Foundation.
Dr. Furtado supports the integration of diverse healing traditions or modalities (conventional, naturopathic, and many diverse traditions) which respect and maintains the integrity and individuality of each tradition’s therapeutic approach. Through this balanced integration, we can evolve a diverse, healthy, sustainable and effective community health care system.

Clients are seen by Appointment at Quakertown Wellness Center in Lewes, Delaware. First time visits last approximately one and one-half hours. We discuss your main health concerns, including nutrition, sleep, and wellness goals.
Subsequent visits last approximately one hour and are scheduled for two-month intervals or as needed for follow-up care.
